FOOD PRESERVING (Canning)is your back-up food supply. Stock your pantry.

If you are building a life of self-sufficiency, being sustainable, Prepper or living Off-Grid, here is the perfect preserving system. Using the simple Australian method of Fowlers Vacola bottling system(the most effective system since 1915. Over 100 yrs of expertise and knowledge & success).

Storing food to use months or years later was common practice in the past as a safeguard for the lean times.

Preserve your fruit and vegetable surplus economically, e.g. enjoy your own tomatoes in the winter months by making sauces for pasta, curry dishes, tomato soups, casseroles. Preserve your Mangoes, Mulberries, Pineapples, Passion fruit & Pears etc.

Food preserving is SIMPLE and can sit on the shelf for years, not chewing up electricity to keep it fresh. This is an important aspect of living Off-Grid, being organized & prepared. "No need to use up freezer space".

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: we show you how to preserve tomatoes,PLUS, we will create & preserve three "Ready to Eat" sauces: Italian tomato pasta sauce, Indian Butter Chicken sauce & a Green Thai Curry sauce, similar to supermarket "Ready to Go" products, but your creation will be a superior home-made product, full of nutrition and wholesomeness & made from the heart.

Preserving is very rewarding, great fun & delicious to eat, AND it hasn't cost you an arm and a leg!

We'll discuss in the course: the equipment, sterilization & food preparation. 3 Ready to Eat sauce recipes included.

This system can be used all year round. Save on your food costs & ensure clean healthy food is on your dining table.

This workshop will be conducted by Paula West, Organic farmer, Beekeeper, a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine & home chef using seasonally grown, clean food.

FOR SALE: We have a limited number of second hand Fowlers Stove top units available for purchase.

Location: Backyard Farm@ Burpengary..
Morning Tea provided.

Good to see the old ways coming back. Every old Queensland home usually had a box of Vacola bottles under the house or in the shed. Ours are empty, dozens of them. Mum had a pantry full of fruit and sauces in the 70's. We still have the old vacola preserving books as well. All I need is a glut of fruit.
