Valerie's GV will be held at:-

Yoorala Street Community Garden Inc (YSCG Inc) was established in 2010. The garden is a space for people to come together and participate in the principles of organic gardening, in the spirit of community and sustainability. The garden became fully Incorporated in 2016.

The aims of the Yoorala Street Community Garden are to:

To provide opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, skills, experience, cultural background and income level to grow organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.

To be an open, welcoming, inclusive, sustainable, educational, creative, community resource.

To foster trusting, sharing, respectful and co-operative relationships between members and with the wider community.

To promote and demonstrate environmentally sustainable practices such as organic gardening, recycling, reusing, seed saving, water conservation and energy efficiency.

The garden has some ‘access friendly’ areas and paths, and raised garden-beds are available to members with accessibility needs.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of Food or Drink to share, and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.

Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.

Hello Valerie and Christa, do you remember promising to give me some purple leafed Oxalis way back when? I will be at the visit tomorrow if the offer still stands. Hope to see you there, regards Roger (the sponger)

Sorry I can't make it but have fun!

Yes please.I have explained our system with swaps and morning tea. Seeds and plant swap is not that common but morning tea at YCG is also very much a plate to share system. We tends to pick and share harvest on working bees though. There will also be tea and coffee for a gold coin donation and a selection of preserves to buy from Carolyn. I propose we hold a raffle too if anybody has anything to donate. I will bring the last of our bug hotels.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have been quite for a few weeks, but we are home from South America after a fabulous 4+ weeks, got home Tuesday last week. All that we saw way what we hoped for and more.

I have also have been madly cooking for Graham so he doesn't starve whilst I am in Hospital for a couple of days ??? next weeks.

We are looking forward to the GV next Sunday and catching up with everyone.

Valerie, do you still want us to bring along the usual Morning Teas and Give Aways ???

Sorry for confusion. The working bee is from 7am to 9am and the garden visit will be from 9am to 11am. The working bee if for YCG members but you are welcome to take part. We are finishing our second wicking bed.
