SUNDAY December 10th 10.00am TO 12.00pm + time for BBQ lunch

Mary-Ann's - GARDEN VISIT/CHRISTMAS PARTY- FREE

Mary-Ann has written a little about her garden: 

so excited to be able to host this years Xmas garden visit – please bring a long anything for the swap table and 1 wrapped xmas gift per person with a gardening theme to the value of $10 ,  chairs , hats drinks( tea coffee water provided) , morning tea ,salad if staying for lunch and come enjoy some country hospitality and stunning views.

 

5 acres of gentle slopes on the lower reaches of the Mt Mee section of the d”Agular Range, still in development al stages. Aim for self sufficiency and sustainability . In 2 .5 years taken part of a weed infested undeveloped ex dairy farm and , built an eco house , planted out 248 assorted fruit trees, fenced,built and stocked three chook pens. .built  trellises for  chokos passionfruit   kiwi fruit squash gourds, grapes, beans marrows and cucumbers, created watering systems  dams, swails .  One floral garden and the rest for unusual and ordinary edibles.  Greenhouse and white house for climate and pest control with  some IBCs awaiting conversion for aquaponics ... There are wicking buckets, raised beds , open beds, a food forest is being established on the North eastern slopes yams cassava pumpkins gourds and squash. Pests are fruit fly, hares and cobblers pegs ! crows and rats get melons and  pumpkins .   Collect rainwater in our 285000 litre tank and use a water recycle system. Make cow poo and weed tea  solar array generate power and hot water.  Reuse recycle and compost most waste here. We will BBQ some samples of the local butchers 58 varieties of sausage  at lunch time. So bring chairs hats drinks, morning tea ,salad if staying for lunch and come enjoy some country hospitality and stunning views. Please be extremely careful if you have children with you – the fences have a secondary strand of wire that is ELECTRIC. 

Please bring a along a plate of  Festive food or drink to share. A small Gift of around $10 value, 1 gift per person and any plants, produce or seeds that you would like to share, swap or sell.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

Thank you both for such a wonderful morning. 

What a fantastic garden ! So many things I have not seen/heard of before so great education too.

So appreciate the time you spent organising the delicious lunch and drinks.

Thank you to Mary-Ann and Colin for hosting AND putting on a bang-up lunch! Those sausages are the best (and all gluten free). 

Your garden has had a lot done to it with new raised beds etc since I was last there. Very productive. Loving the big shade house.

Have a Wonderful time today at Mary-Ann and Colin's GV everyone and please think of having a GV at your place next year. I need to fill the calendar. We would love to visit some of the gardens of our new members or perhaps members gardens that have matured or had some recent changes.

yay its nearly time for Garden visit and PARTY - anyone coming on Saturday afternoon or to stay Sunday night - we still have two double beds spare and a double pull down futon and a media room lounge that converts to a double bed !!! Saturday night is Santa coming to town at the Dayboro show grounds ! usually an awesome night as well !!!!! If you are arriving early please message me so we can leave the gates open .. if anyone has spare newspapers or pineapple tops they dont need we are always looking for them  thanks - so excited for the weekend !
