After many requests to me for a Cheese Making Class, I have now decided to put one into EVENTS for the year. I had asked Andrew if he would like to hold the class but he has another interest involved as his contribution. I am not a tutor of Cheese Making but a very enthusiastic Fromager who can guide you through the fundamentals.
In this class we will be making a variety of cheeses that will be either finished or finished only requiring aging at home.
To finish all Cheeses listed you will need a week-end as some need overnight settling or draining. If you can only come for one day you won't make as many Cheeses but will have something to take home. If you are really wanting to do the class but distance from me is a problem for you then may like to think about sharing accommodation in one of the Motels we have handy to us. We do have a very comfortable Double/Queen Pull out Sofa and a comfortable Lounge and 1 single bed available for anyone interested in staying over.
You will learn the techniques on how to make - A Starter, Chabichou, Quark, Persian Feta, Camembert and or Brie, Camblu, Ricotta and ??
There will be no charge for the class.
Please bring something along for Lunch and Morning & Afternoon Tea on both days.
If there is anyone who is wanting to come along on either day to look around the garden, and see what lovely cheeses we are making, you are welcome, as we will be having Cheese Tasting on both days. We will need numbers for non- Cheesemakers as well as Cheesemakers so as we have enough nibbles for everyone.
Depending on the class size will determine the cost of the ingredients needed eg. Milk and Cream etc. As I only use Pasteurized Milk it is probably easier for me to get all milk that will be needed. $'s will be costed out as soon as we have numbers for the class.
