Event Description

SUNDAY JULY 9th 11.00am TO ? 2.00pm

EPICURIOUS GARDEN & LUNCH AT ARBOUR VIEWS CAFE'S SOUTH BANK

Transport to the Parklands can either be by Car, Ferry, Trains or Buses, I am sure you will find the most suitable transport for the outing.

The Epicurious Garden is a must-visit destination at South Bank for foodies, gardening enthusiasts and all those in-between.
Head along to explore the garden’s exquisite plant life and see what fresh produce looks, feels and smells like. All produce in the garden is organic, and is rotated seasonally throughout the year.

To see where the Epicurious Garden is located, check out the South Bank map.

After our visit we will then head on over to the Arbour Cafe's for lunch.

The Arbour View Cafes are a relaxing spot in the heart of the parklands. Head along to grab a drink or a bite to eat while watching the world go by. There are many different Cafe's to choose from. I am sure you will find something that takes your fancy & wallet for lunch.

After lunch you may like to take a ferry ride or meander around the remainder of the Parklands.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

RSVP required so as we have an idea of numbers, and don't go off to Lunch without anyone.

If you are running late please let me know and we may be able to wait to go to lunch, we would not want to go without you. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 if you are running late.

Dianne,  this map HERE  shows how close the City Hopper Ferry stop is to the epicurious garden.  New Farm, Sydney Street terminal, would be the best in my books to park, if possible.

We will come by train, then we can both have wine for lunch. Note a wine, not a whine! South Brisbane station near the Performing Arts is the nearest and easiest to navigate, not South Bank station which has a lot of steep walking to get to the gardens.

City Hopper is a free ferry (old type) with a kangaroo on the side.  If you can find your way to Sydney street ferry terminal, New Farm area, or other stops of the Hopper, you will be dropped off pretty close to the garden.

Looks like quite a hike from South Brisbane station. We'd catch the train to ... don't know - Roma Street perhaps. Out of the habit of navigating Brisbane. City Hopper - not heard of that one. Where does it go to pick it up? Might be a tad more complex than it seemed at first glance. Driving for me is not an option, just too unfamiliar with the roads.

July is a good month Elaine, the second link further down the page does work.   Might see if we can get on the City Hopper which should drop us off just at the epicurious garden, it seems to run on the 1/2 hour.

Hi Elaine, What a lovely way to spend your birthday with gardening friends. The Map in the area where I was talking about the Epicurious Gardens was working but not the one at the top in the event details. I have now fixed it. Thanks so much for letting me know. What transport do you plan to use?

Sounds wonderful (2 days to my 75th birthday ;-) ... however the link doesn't result in a map.
