On Fri the 21st of March, with the support of 4zzz, Wandering Cooks and Visink we will conduct a culinary act of protest set on stopping the senseless waste of food due to prevailing selection standards of retailers, wholesalers and the food industry.
The first Dicing Disco, or 'Schnippeldisko' (literally, 'snippet disco' in German), was organized in 2012 in Berlin by the Slow Food Youth Network. Since then the Dicing Disco idea has spread internationally, under many creative names, but the format is always the same: Unmarketable vegetables are collected from local grocery stores or directly from farms; the reject produce is taken to a public place and then all is prepared into a large shared meal to the sounds of good music.
The focus for us is the fun of dozens, if not hundreds, of people scrubbing, peeling, slicing and dicing together.
So come on down, listen to some sweet beats and get involved! Help others, help the community and help make the future a brighter one :)

Might be a clue there - this listed event has nothing to do with the BLF FB page. You need to follow the link at the top of the listing (Website or map) and go to the site that is actually holding the event. In this case, it's Crop Fest.
I don't personally have anything to do with the BLF FB page - Farina looks after that herself.
I just tried the link Jo and it works fine linking to FB. Takes you to the Crop Fest page.
Wondering, if you couldn't link to FB, how did you find out that there was very little activity?
We just list these Events, we don't run them. You need to respond to the people who are running the event, not here on the BLF site.
This doesn't link to Facebook - and there is very little activity - or events posted- on the Facebook site which makes it difficult to spread the word - anyway, I have a 'plus 1' though he may not attend at 6 pm, due to work commitments.
Not really up on these FB events. This one didn't have an end time or street address given. Contact the organisers (who are also members here in BLF) for more information.
Always add photos using the "From my computer" option, even if you are on a mobile phone or other device.
