Event Description

Saturday 12th March 2016

9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm: Bush Regen K.I.T.: Knowledge, Inspiration, Tools ‘n’ technique – with Tali Shelley & Jono Shelley

Bushtekniq is a local chemical-free landcare project, presenting a day of connectedness and learning ‘in the bush’.

Participants will be helping to unpack the bush regen K.I.T.: Knowledge, Inspiration, Tools ‘n’ technique. Components of the day include practical (weeding, planting, mulching, field walk plant I.D, tool use), theoretical (reference guides & resources, opinion & legislation, utilising council programs), philosophical (discussion around chemical use & ecology, role of ‘weeds’, role of biodiversity & our place in the ecosystem) and spiritual (qi gong, deep listening, belonging & connectedness exercises).

Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand-tools, gloves and hats, as well as stories, questions and ideas for local landcare. Jono and Tali look forward to sharing knowledge, concepts and practical tools for enhancing and protecting our local environment, whilst deepening awareness of ecology, connectedness to, and custodianship of land.

Please bring a notebook and pen, suitable clothes/gear for the weather (hat for sun, wet weather gear for rain, etc), and gloves and secateurs if you have them.

Cost: Full day $85/$65 (Healthcare Card holder)

or half day $50 / $35 (Healthcare Card holder)
