Reminder that the 2019 BOGI Fair will be held at the Peace Hall, 102 McDonald Road Windsor (near the Albion railway station), on Sunday the 25th of August from 9am-3pm (FREE admission). This will be the 33rd Brisbane Organic Growers Fair.
If you haven't been it's great little fair. Not large in scale but a fun hour or two. Most of the fruit trees in my back yard have been purchased from the vendors here. Sometimes they're a real bargain other times I look at it as getting free postage from the nurseries bringing their plants up from the Northern Rivers.
This is not an organised Brisbane Local Food event so to speak so turn up whenever is convenient. RSVP is not necessary but feel free to if you want to let others know you're going so they can keep an eye out for you, or maybe co-ordinate going together.
If you are looking to add to your garden I recommend going early, as the plants can start to dwindle in options by the end of the day. Most of the vendors have Eftpos although I do remember a few being cash only but that could have been from a few years back. Yes it can be one of those "I just went for a look and now my passengers have 18 plants on their laps", type events.
Parking does get congested, so sometimes dropping people off and parking a couple of streets away is easier than doing laps.
